Taking the Mystery out of TBI Through Research

Posted on: 05.08.20 | by neurostudies

Dr. Randall Benson speaks with editor Amy Zellmer of The Brain Health Magazine and host of “Faces of TBI Online Radio” about how to take the mystery out of TBI through research. It is a podcast dedicated to traumatic brain injury (TBI) awareness. Created by survivors for survivors. They interview survivors, caregivers, medical professionals, and others! Please enjoy this podcast interview on “Taking the Mystery out of TBI”.

Dr. Benson’s clinical practice and research has focused on more precise diagnosis in head injured patients, leveraging newer functional neuroimaging, neurosensory and pituitary evaluations, culminating in more effective treatments and improved outcomes in patients.

Dr. Benson’s research and clinical practice through the Center for Integrated Neurology and the Center for Neurological Studies are strongly focused on disorders of the brain and cognition. Dr. Benson’s commitment to finding novel ways to enhance recovery of function after stroke led to multiple foundation and industry-sponsored investigations into the use of targeted electrical/magnetic stimulation of the brain in motor and language impairment following stroke. Dr. Benson’s research on brain disorders is high impact and cutting edge.

Amy, Thank you so much for all that you do for TBI awareness and HOPE for Sufferers.
It was fully a year after my injury, that I first found your Very Relatable YouTube channel. That, was My Beginning of making any sense of how, what, and why my entire life had turned upside down. Cognitively, Emotionally, Physically and Spiritually ALL Changed. I’m still trying to pick up the scattered pieces and pack them back in. Going back in a different order, some things are completely missing, and to my Surprise, Some pieces got some dust knocked off, allowing them to Shine much Prettier.
You, and your Very Knowledgeable guest, Dr Randall Benson, are Both a tremendous Inspiration to me. To continue to face my daily struggles, to Advocate for TBI awareness, Early Diagnosis, resulting Mental Health issues, as well as badly needed Brain Donations.
Thank you, from the Core of my Being.
    KM
